PARENT/CARERS EVENT - Free

23rd March 2009 from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm with a light lunch.
At The Prentice Centre, 1 Granton Mains Avenue, Edinburgh, EH4 4GA

The subject of the event is how to work better with children's Challenging Behaviour and the aim of the day is for parents and carers to have a chance to meet others and share ideas and information. There will be a speaker - Claire Edwards - for the first hour and the rest of the day will allow parents to speak to each other, look at available information and resources, speak to a professional for any tips and find out about services.

It will be informal and, although the title is Challenging Behaviour - we know that it is behaviour that is challenging to us and is often because of the children’s difficulties - so we want to gather positive tips and celebrate the positives at the same time.

We would like parents and carers to suggest or bring along any resources e.g. equipment, books, etc. that they have found useful and will label them to put on show in a room for people to have a look at during the day.

We have a questionnaire to fill in with parents who are interested in attending to try and make sure that the topics or questions that people have that are most important to them at this time can be addressed.

So, please telephone Angela Cusack on 0131 551 2460, mobile 07984 948623 or email Children Inc with your questions, ideas, comments or request to book. Alternatively, please contact George Reavely at Edinburgh Inclusive on 0131 476 4506.

If you can't make it on that day - but you would have been interested - please contact us to note your comments or interest for another possible date.

Thanks.
